Tax deadlines in Canada
Keep a separate calendar for filing, payments and remittances.
Personal and self-employed returns
For 2025 personal returns, the standard filing deadline was April 30, 2026. For taxpayers who, or whose spouse or common-law partner, were self-employed, it was June 15, 2026. The standard payment deadline remained April 30, 2026. These dates have passed; special circumstances can change filing requirements.
Corporations
T2 returns are due within six months of the fiscal year-end. Corporate tax balances are generally due two months after year-end; qualifying CCPCs can have three months for specified taxes. Instalment dates are separate.
GST/HST and payroll
Use the filing period on your GST/HST account and your payroll remitter type to identify your dates. They are not the same for every business. Confirm any weekend or holiday adjustment on the official source. Provincial obligations, including Québec requirements, may also apply.
